Sinopsis

This book is in English. Self-discovery is a deliberate, courageous journey and an important part of both psychotherapy and spiritual practice. What is significant is that the mind is a virtual reality.
There are three main tasks for the therapist: the first is to provide a loving and supportive context for the whole process. The second task is to understand enough about the client to assist in the self-discovery process. That means helping the client reach and sustain mindfulness, and creat ing little experiments that promote new experiences and insights.
The third task of the therapist is to evoke emotionally satisfying missing experiences that may have previously been unavailable because of the way the person was habitually organizing experience.
The client must be willing to embark on this journey of self-discovery with the courage that it entails. Tremendous vulnerability and openness are required to allow such discoveries to be made.
Hakomi is a simple yet powerful way of using loving presence and embodied mindfulness for the journey of self discovery and emotional healing.
